Using Counterpoint in offline mode

When you run NCR Counterpoint on an offline workstation that is not connected to the database server, you are operating in offline mode. Generally speaking, offline mode allows you to enter new Point of Sale documents and add customers on-the-fly, but prevents you from accessing other areas of the software that rely on a connection to the central database.

For example, you can enter new tickets using Ticket Entry or Touchscreen Ticket Entry, but you cannot post those tickets while you are in offline mode.

Except for the restrictions outlined in this section, using Counterpoint in offline mode is identical to using the software in normal (i.e., connected) mode. For example, all security codes, user preferences, workgroup restrictions, and other uses-specific settings are still in effect, as are your Point of Sale configuration settings (i.e., drawer assignments, touchscreen codes, and so forth).
