Sending reports via e-mail

In this version, you can configure Counterpoint to allow authorized users to send Point of Sale and back office reports to users, customers, and vendors via e-mail. This feature allows you to easily share reports while reducing your consumption of physical supplies, including printer paper and ink.

Once you have configured the necessary settings, authorized users will see the E-mail button on all report parameter windows, alongside the Preview and Print buttons. Clicking this button displays the E-mail Parameters dialog, which allows the user to select a user, customer, or vendor with a valid e-mail address, or to specify a "one use" To address.

If no e-mail address is on file for the selected user, customer, or vendor, the user can add the necessary e-mail address "on the fly" or create a new user, customer, or vendor record. The user can also modify the From address, Subject, and default Body text defined for your company before sending the report.

To use this feature, you must define a valid SMTP host name for your e-mail system or provider using the Management Console.
