Menus
Like most Windows applications, NCR Counterpoint includes a series of menus that enable you to navigate through the software. These menus correspond to particular areas, or modules, of Counterpoint, including Point of Sale, Inventory, Customers, Purchasing, and so forth. Each menu includes various options that allow you to access related functions, reports, and utilities.
You can display Counterpoint’s menus in one of four formats, or menu styles, each of which has a different look and feel. By default, the menus appear in the Buttons menu style. In this style, each option is a button you can click— or touch, if you’re using a touchscreen monitor— to access the corresponding menu or function. The Buttons menu style is well-suited for use with touchscreen monitors, as well as for clerks or other users with limited access to Counterpoint’s functions.
Counterpoint includes three additional menu styles, including the Standard, Explorer, and Tree styles. These styles are less suitable for touchscreen users, but managers may find it easier to find their way through Counterpoint’s numerous options using one of these styles.
You can choose your Main menu style on the Main tab of the User Preferences window (Setup > System > User Preferences).
