Ingenico iSC250 Firmware Update

NCR Counterpoint V8.5.4 requires you to update your iSC250 payment terminal(s) to RBA firmware version 15.0.6 or later.

To process EBT card transactions, you must update your iSC250 payment terminal(s) to RBA firmware version 18.0.4 or later.

You must update the firmware on your iSC250 payment terminal(s) for use with NCR Counterpoint V8.5.4, regardless of whether you intend to process EMV or EBT card transactions.

If you haven't already done so, follow these steps to update the RBA firmware on your iSC250 payment terminal(s):

  1. From a workstation to which an iSC250 payment terminal is connected, browse to the \Bin subdirectory of your Counterpoint installation directory (e.g., C:\Program Files (x86)\Radiant Systems\Counterpoint\CPSQL.1 - Station\Bin) and double-click IngenicoUtility.exe to start the ClosedIngenico Utility.

  1. Click Connect to display the ClosedConnect Device dialog.

  1. Select the COM Port to which the iSC250 is connected, or select the HID option if you are using the iSC250's USB-HID interface.
  2. Click OK to connect to the device and return to the ClosedIngenico Utility dialog.

  1. Select Update Device from the Device menu to display the ClosedUpdate Device dialog box.

  1. If you will not be processing EBT card transactions, select 1506 from the Update RBA Version list box.

If you will be processing EBT card transactions, select 1804 from the Update RBA Version list box.

Clear the Ad Images check box if you have already uploaded a custom idle image or logo to your iSC250 and do not want to overwrite the image with the current iSC250AD1.jpg file.

  1. Click the Update Device button to update the firmware on your iSC250 to v15.0.6 or v18.0.4.

If you are using a non-KP4 device, your payment terminal will be updated to RBA firmware v15.0.5 or v18.0.3.

A progress indicator appears, keeping you apprised of the status of the firmware update process. During the update process, the iSC250 will reboot several times. When the update is finished, the Ingenico Utility dialog box closes automatically.

Repeat these steps for each workstation with an iSC250 payment terminal.
