Ingenico iSC250 USB-HID Support

In this version, you can configure an Ingenico iSC250 payment terminal to use a direct USB-HID interface instead of a serial or serial-to-USB interface. The USB-HID interface is available for use with iSC250 payment terminals that have been configured to process EMV transactions, as well as for non-EMV devices.

The USB-HID interface is not supported in WAN (i.e., Terminal Services/Remote Desktop) environments.

Follow these steps to configure an iSC250 payment terminal to use USB-HID:

If you have previously installed the Ingenico Telium USB Jungo driver on your workstation(s) to use the serial-to-USB interface with your iSC250 payment terminal(s), you must uninstall it before performing these steps.

  1. Press and hold the [Clear] and [-] (minus) keys on the iSC250 payment terminal simultaneously to reboot it.

  2. When the iSC250 reboots and the Retail Base screen appears, press [2] [6] [3] [4], and then press the [Enter] key.

  3. Press the [+] (plus) key to display the Functions menu, and then tap TDA (or press the [3] key) to display the TDA menu.

  4. Tap Configuration (or press the [0] key) to display the Configuration menu.

  5. Tap Communication (or press the [0] key) to display the Communication menu.

  6. Tap Select Comm. Type (or press the [0] key) to display the Select Comm. Type screen.

  7. Tap the USB-HID option and press the [Enter] key.

  8. Press the [Clear] key three times to display the Save and Reboot? screen, and then tap Yes (or press the [1] key) to save your changes and reboot the iSC250.

  9. In NCR Counterpoint, select Setup > Point of Sale > Devices to display the Device Management window.

  10. In the Stores and Workstations tree, select your store, and then select the workstation to which the iSC250 is connected.

  11. Select the Ingenico iSC250 Payment Terminal or Ingenico iSC250 EMV device to display the device settings in the Workstation Device area of the Device Management window.

  12. Select the USB-HID option from the ClosedConnection Type list box.

  13. Click the Save button to save your changes.

Repeat these steps for each of your iSC250 payment terminals.
