NCR Counterpoint Management Console:

Workstation view

When you select a workstation from the Object Explorer, the NCR Counterpoint Management Console displays a series of tabs that allow you to review important information about the workstation, monitor CPServices communication activity between the workstation and its server, and initiate various tasks for an offline workstation.

The Workstation view includes the following tabs:

ClosedSummary

The ClosedSummary tab displays summary information about the selected workstation, including the Store and Station to which it is registered, the date and time of its registration, the date and time of its Last Connection to the server, and its System name.

The Summary tab also allows you to perform various tasks for an offline workstation via the following buttons:

Request File Sync

Click this button to tale a snapshot of the offline workstation's local top-level directory and send it to its server. This process allows the server to determine whether top-level file changes (e.g,. new data dictionary settings, custom reports, updated item or customer images, and so forth) need to be sent from the server to the workstation via File Sync.

Unregister

Click this button to disassociate the offline workstation from the station, store, and server to which it is assigned. When you "un-register" an offline workstation, it will no longer exchange offline or configuration data with the server.

Extract

Click this button to extract changed data from the server into an XML file and send the file to the selected offline workstation, which will be populated with the relevant data.

Full extract

Click this button to extract a complete set of configuration data from the server into an XML file and send the file to the selected offline workstation, which will be populated with the relevant data.

Rebuild

Click this button to build an initialization package on the server and send it to the selected store or workstation. An initialization package contains sufficient data to allow a complete database to be created and populated with a complete configuration data extraction, rebuilding the offline database.

ClosedCommunication Detail

The ClosedCommunication Detail tab displays detailed information about the packages that have been sent between the selected offline workstation and the corresponding server via Data Sync (i.e., ticket data and configuration changes) and File Sync (i.e., top-level file changes).

You can specify a Package Date range for the Communication Detail tab by selecting a start date and end date, and then clicking the Refresh button.

To filter the packages that appear on the Communication Detail tab, select a Package Direction (i.e., Inbound or Outbound), Package Type (i.e., Data Sync, File Sync, or System Message), and/or one of the following Package Status options:

For packages with errors, you can click the Reprocess Package button to attempt to send the package again.

The Package History area displays detailed communication history for the selected package, including each Status change and the corresponding Message.
