Mix-and-Match Codes
Counterpoint now supports mix-and-match pricing, which allows you to group items together— by item number, category, sub-category, or vendor— to grant discounts based on quantity, total retail value, weight, or volume. You can use mix-and-match pricing to encourage customers to purchase additional items to qualify for a discount.
For example, you might define a mix-and-match price group that allows your customers to purchase any combination of 5 items in a particular category (e.g., FOOD) and subcategory (e.g., BURGERS) to receive a 10% discount on each item. Or you could define a mix-and-match price group that grants 5% off any combination of wine bottles that equals nine liters.
A mix-and-match price group will also apply a discount when a customer buys enough eligible items to qualify for the discount, even if items are entered on separate ticket lines. For example, if you define a price rule that grants 10% off five cheeseburgers, the discount will apply if a user rings up each cheeseburger on an individual ticket line.
Use the Mix-and-Match Codes window to define a mix-and-match code. Each mix-and-match code determines the basis for associated mix-and-match group discounts (e.g., Total quantity, Total Price-1, Total weight, and so forth).
